Halloween is a time for making some very serious decisions. What to dress up as? What sweets are the best value for money? Is the ‘trick’ part of ‘trick or treat’ an empty threat? Where’s the best place to go for Halloween craic? Well, pull up a cobweb covered squeaky rocking chair, my friend. We can help you out with the last, and most important question. The best place to go for unbridled Halloween craic is our place – although WE know that YOU know that already.
We love an auld bash – and we LOVE a Bank Holiday. So, we’re putting on another one of our infamous Halloween Parties on Sunday, 30 October. There’ll be tricks. There’ll be treats. Let us spill the beans.
For your delectation and delight, we’ve got 3 brilliant bands taking to the stage. First up, Vulpynes. This band features Maeve Molly on vox and guitar and Kaz on drums – and for a two-piece, they make a LOT of noise! Expect relentless low end riffs, snarling vocals and filthy, powerful drumming. Inspired by punk rock and grunge, Vulpynes are brimming with a unique brand of thumping gritty noise.
Next up, we’ve got the awesome Sun Mahshene. Lead by Nathan Henderson, Sun Mahshene is a collective of musicians from Dublin town. Their melodic hooks are mixed with fuzz and grit – and delivers a sonic wall of sound that we LOVE.
Great things come in threes, and our third live act for the night is Free Sunshine Acid. This six piece gang are fine purveyors of psychedelic and shoegazey tunes and you definitely don’t wanna miss ‘em!
After the live music is finished the party will KEEP going. We’ve got Alternative Tunes & Indie Anthems by Trev & Tony Bones and a raucous set of 80’s, 90’s, 00’s Guilty Pleasures by the most debonair Edward Porter.
As is the case every Sunday, once the live acts are finished, The Karaoke Club takes over.
As it is Halloween, we’re gonna do things a little differently. As most of you will already be in fancy dress, we’re adding a competitive element to proceedings. That’s right, we are bringing you The Workman’s Club Karaoke Club Stars In Their Eyes Edition with the one and only superstar host and Guest MC Mattress Mick. Competitors will battle it out for some seriously deadly prizes under the watchful eye of Sir Mick of Mattress. That’s food for thought on your costume choice right there.
