Gigonometry Presents…

Our last gig of 2016, is it a Xmas gig? Is it Gigometry Presents, or Gigonometry Xmas Presents? Either way, we’ve got 4 super acts under the tree. The explosive collective that is Popgun Warfare will complete a wonderful 2016 for us and we couldn’t think of a more suitable act to do exactly this. She Speaks are an exciting new’ish 4-piece fronted by the talented Rebecca Keogh, whilst Military Road have litereally burst onto the scene with some tasty performances over the summer in all the right places, and our opening act Peco is no stranger to Gigonometry and will bring a full band along for the sleighride!

Popgun Warfare are a 7–piece band with a unique brand of rock effortlessly blended with touches of reggae, ska and funk to give them a one-of-a-kind sound. The band was originally formed as a project between drummer Adam J Wilson and bassist Marty McCormack in the latter half of 2014 and gradually blossomed into the full 7-piece before giving birth to the debut release, the 5-track ‘Out of the Woods’. Following this release the band played sets in Sin É, The Mercantile, Whelan’s and the Bello Bar, thus cementing their live sound and winning fans along the way. They also racked up appearances at Prosperous Music Festival and headlined the annual ArcadeCon with support from Troy Baker and chap-hop artist Professor Elemental.

In December 2015 the band won Best Unsigned Act at The Arcade. January 2016 saw the band reach #11 in Unsigned & Independent’s Best of Irish EPs for 2015. The release of their 2nd EP ‘Skeletons’ in The Workmans Club saw a now 8-piece band play a rapturously received energetic set.

SHESPEAKS are a four piece who have been described as one with a ‘raw charge… underlined by showmanship and ability.’ (Unsigned and Independent). The band draws upon soul, pop, disco, rock and alternative music, painting a sonic landscape that truly requires the listener to sit up and take notice.
They has played blistering sets throughout the year, taking in Dublin’s Grand Social’s Saucy Sunday’s and Sin E’s Crafty Monday’s showcases, amongst others. They’ve also featured at a number of Dublin’s other premium live spots such as Whelan’s, the Emergenza festival at The Village, The King Kong Club, and were a featured artist on the RTE Radio alternative station 2XM. In 2014 they entered the studio to work on demos for their debut album at Westland Studios, Dublin, and are expected to release their debut album in the near future. Their debut single ‘The Fear’ featured on the sadly now defunct TXFM.

Military Road are a 5 piece band from Rathmines in Dublin. They launched onto the music scene in the summer of ’16, racking up appearances in Whelans, Sin É and Electric Picnic.  Their unique indie sound sets them apart, making them one of the most promising up and coming acts out there right now. Catch them while you can.

Peco plays his own brand of alt-folk music. His work is lyrically driven and steeped in folk, indie and classic singer-songwriter influences, including artists like Dylan, Neil Young, Wilco, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Ryan Adams and Laura Marling. He has toured around Ireland, the UK, America and Canada under his own name and with his previous outfit Valentine Black. The band enjoyed critical acclaim for their album ‘Desire Lines’. He now plays both solo and with a band.

Peco’s songs have received airplay on regional and national stations in Ireland and abroad. He has twice reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest and one of his songs has debuted on US TV last year. He has recently signed a management/record deal with Live Loud Music.

His debut single ‘Safe Haven’ was released in March ’16 and his EP, ‘And so I arrived at the start’ is due out early 2017.

“His lyrics are honest, impressive and hard hitting…There are echoes of Dylan and Jeff Buckley about him…A contender for the best Irish male artist that we will have for some time to come.” Musicwand

“There’s something strikingly likeable about this troubadour’s music and lyrics…it has a warm familiarity…but his lyrics aren’t naive or meaningless, they’re backed up with thought and a restrained but intent-filled passion…he’s giving us cause for great expectations.” Remy’s Music and Film

“Lyrics match spirit in McLoughlin’s music, he’s a poet as well as a musician.”

The Irish Echo, NYC

“With the talented penmanship and melodies that you can’t help but bob along to, Peco is an artist to keep your eyes on.” Eirecana
