“Trinity Med Day’ is an annual fundraising event run by medical students to raise funds for worthy causes in Trinity-affiliated hospitals. Since 2002, it has raised over €500,000 for equipment, services and research which makes a huge difference to patients and their families.
This year on October 22nd, a talented group of our very own will be covering the music of Arctic Monkeys, in Dublin’s Workman’s Club, in aid of these very worthy causes outlined below.
As well as our annual support of Trinity Access Programme, the beneficiaries for 2015 are:
1. Target Lung Cancer – support researchers at St James’s Hospital in developing future cancer treatments.
2. Arthritis – ultrasound equipment to spare patients at Tallaght Hospital from a year-long wait for an MRI scan for diagnosis and treatment of arthritis.
3. National Rehabilitation Hospital – a Cough Assist Machine to reduce spinal injury patients’ risk of developing chest infections.
4. Bereavement support and a family room at Tallaght Hospital’s Acute Medical Assessment Unit.
