Press Release

The success of the inaugural ‘Best Of’ quarterly gig in March pointed to an appetite for more, so we’ve responded with a 3-nighter in The Workmans Club in June.

Thurs June 8th is our regular monthly gig, and features the exciting new act Motions, guitar rockers Pearl, indie act Empathy, and the highly acclaimed Saramai.

Friday June 9th features the hot 5-piece Dublin outfit Fiction Peaks in a special midnight performance, whilst Sat June 10th is the quarterly ‘Best Of’ gig, and features previous Gigo acts Three Underneath, Youth Mass, Changing Gears, & Bayonets.

Sat June 9th

Three Underneath

Three Underneath release their explosive sophomore EP “Something Pure” on June 10th, perfectly timed to coincide with their headline performance at Gigonometry. The trio decamped to the studios of Stephen Robinson (Laundry Shop, Angels of Mons) to record the exciting three-track; Nirvana-esque “Seven”, haunting and heavy “His Last Words” and lead single “Can I Be”, mastered by Tony Cousins (Bat For Lashes, Kaiser Chiefs, Keywest).

Youth Mass

Youth Mass are an alternative/indie pop band from Trim who deliver a uniquely high-energy, guitar driven sound during their live shows. They’ve released 1 album and 2 EP’s to date, all to critical acclaim, gaining excellent reviews to their live shows as well.  Their latest EP, LOST FUTURES, was released on April 27th, with the lead single – Someone is Calling – coming out that same day.

Changing Gears

Changing Gears are five guys engaged in a vainglorious attempt to strip music of its lofty pretensions and just play. They feature a blonde one, a tall one, two bald ones and a small one that play cosmic-pop-punk that gives you a pleasant punch in the gut.

Bayonets is the solo and occasionally collaborative venture created by musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His style is a mix of alternative rock, indie, blues and folk, and he has worked with a number of musicians using his own material over the last three years resulting in three critically acclaimed EPs
His new set hints at a beloved dark thread with an interesting twist. Every track hums with a sense of pure originality and haunting intrigue.

His debut solo single ‘Slow Burning Fire’ is set for release in June 2017.
