MONSTER SESSIONS

Thursday June 15th, 8pm, The Main Room

With history-making, boundary-pushing rap and drill artists flying the flag for Ireland on the global stage like never before, Hot Press has joined forces with Monster Energy to present a groundbreaking new show: Monster Sessions. Taking place at The Workman’s Club in Dublin on Thursday, June 15, the event will feature some of the biggest forces on the Irish scene, TraviS & ElzzzCelaviedmai and Reggie B, followed by some unmissable, high-energy DJ sets – all of which can be perfectly paired with a Monster cocktail on the night.

And the best news? You can apply for complimentary tickets through the form below…

Monster Energy has long been associated with cutting-edge music scenes around the world – powering musicians and performers on massive festival stages and underground venues alike, and making their own mark on the industry with the hugely popular Monster Energy Outbreak Tour in North America.

On these shores and far beyond, recent years have seen drill make the unprecedented leap from the streets to the charts – and bypassing all the traditional industry avenues to get there. Nowhere has the success of the rap subgenre been more remarkable than in Ireland, with acts from right across the country clocking up millions of streams and views, by doing things their own way.

After being tipped as one of Hot Press‘s ‘Hot For 2023’ acts earlier this year, TraviS & Elzzz cemented their status at the forefront of the scene with the highest-charting rap release in the Irish Albums Chart to date – overtaking some of the most prestigious names in international music to score the No.2 spot with their debut eight-track tape, Full Circle.

More recently, the Dublin-based duo – who are also co-founders of the multifaceted creative community Gliders – teamed up with Confamm Charlito on the irresistible ‘Low Key Hating’, which once again finds them primed for world domination.

Galway will also be represented on the night by the one-and-only Celaviedmai – who has established herself as one of the country’s brightest stars, thanks to a string of brilliantly eclectic, hard-hitting releases. She showcased some impressive growth as on artist on her debut EP, Both Sides Of The Story, last year, having already clocked up coverage in international outlets like VICE and The New York Times.

Of course, a night celebrating Irish rap and drill wouldn’t be complete without Dundalk’s own Reggie B. One of the scene’s most promising artists, he first began making waves in 2018, with his now-legendary ‘New Eire Flow’ freestyle. He’s since released his debut project O2P, and collaborated with the likes of Selló, Offica, New Machine, Chuks, Dbo, Alicia Raye, Smilez Cubez, YZ and more. Earlier this year, he returned with with the acclaimed ‘Million Ways’.

Each performer showcases a unique side of the phenomenal scene in Ireland – as well as their own potential for major international success. So, don’t miss this rare chance to catch all three under the one roof, for what’s already gearing up to be a historic night for Irish rap and drill.
