The Irish Composers’ Collective is excited to present it’s first concert for the 2016/2017 season.

And what of vibrations? – an exploration of the relationship between words, music and everything in between

5 spoken word artist perform newly written prose and verse alongside with responsive musical compositions composed by ICC members and performed by Kate Ellis ( Cello) and Lisa Dowdall ( Viola).

All this in the intimate surroundings of the newly refurbished Workman’s Main Room.

about Kate Ellis //

Kate is a versatile musician dedicated to the performance and exploration of all new music. She is cellist and Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble, Ireland’s leading new music group, and a member of Francesco Turrisi’s Taquin experiments, Yurodny, Ergodos Musicians and the electro-folk group Fovea Hex. She has toured and been broadcast throughout the world and performed the works of the likes of Gerald Barry, Steve Reich, David Lang, Michael Gordon, Nico Muhly and many more.

about Lisa Dowdall //

Lisa Dowdall Born in Dublin, Lisa Dowdall is one of Ireland’s most innovative and versatile musicians. As member of Crash Ensemble, Lisa has collaborated with artists such as Dawn Upshaw, Iarla O’Lionard, Sam Amidon and Gavin Friday, and has premiered works written for the Crash Ensemble by Terry Riley, David Lang, Michael Gordon, Nico Muhly and Donnacha Dennehy.​
