Live Tonite is proud to present the Spanish artist Valeria Castro on September 19th from 7:30 pm at The Workman’s Main Room, Dublin (tickets for the cellar valid).
After completing an 82-show tour with sold-out performances across more than 10 countries with her debut album, Valeria presents “el cuerpo después de todo”, her second full-length work. Produced by eight-time Latin Grammy winner Carles Campi Campón (Jorge Drexler, Natalia Lafourcade, Vetusta Morla), this album represents an exercise in both artistic and personal growth. In it, the artist from La Palma unveils a strong woman who bravely faces her fears. It is a puzzle of emotions that resonates with our deepest and most dormant feelings.
Always true to her essence, Valeria seems to remind us of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous line in “The Little Prince”: “What is essential is invisible to the eye.” Recorded between Mexico and Spain, this new work will take Valeria to at least 17 countries on her presentation tour, culminating in a concert at the WiZink Center in Madrid, a milestone that reaffirms her position as one of the great artists of her generation.
Valeria has received significant recognition, including two Latin Grammy nominations, a Goya nomination, and awards such as “Best Folk Album” at the MIN Awards, the ACAEM Award, and the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands.Throughout her career, she has collaborated with iconic figures such as Julieta Venegas, Alejandro Sanz, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Silvana Estrada, Vetusta Morla, Vicente García, and Sílvia Pérez Cruz, solidifying her place as an essential voice in contemporary Hispanic music.
